The ratings for IMS are available for the Ohlson 38. The CRC rating (Fédération Royale Belge de Yachting) is 22.63. The Dansk Handicap (2007) rating is about 700 - 710 sec/sm depending on propeller-type and downwind sails measured.

Hull Shape:
The design of the OHLSON 38 consists of a moderate beam and displacement combined with long overhangs. She has a long fin keel with a rudder mounted to a skeg.

Other data:
Engine: Originally a 24 HP diesel engine was fitted (Volvo MD 2B), but the engine bay will take larger ones (e.g. the MD3B with 36 HP). Today most of them will have been replaced to more modern engines around 28 HP.
